I have recently replaced my mouse with a touch tablet for ergonomic reasons. So far it’s worked well enough, except for one completely mind-shattering problem: if you are using a tablet on a Windows 8+ system, and you RDP into a previous version of Windows (in my case, Windows Server 2008 R2), certain touch gestures will emit characters randomly to the remote session. For me, these characters were either ‘z’ or ‘c’ depending on the touch direction, and it all made Visual Studio incredibly frustrating to use.
It turns out the problem is due to Windows Edge Swipe gestures, and past versions of Windows that don’t support them. Turn it off right now, and get back to enjoying your awkward/ergonomic experience.
